Woodborough was a framework-knitting village, and some two-storey cottages with ground-floor knitter’s windows remain. There is one primary school in the village, Woodborough Woods Foundation CofE Primary School. A local pub is the Four Bells Inn which was established in 1762. The pub sits across the road from St Swithun’s Church which is almost certainly where it got its name.
